Set to a backdrop of African savannahs, the sounds of beating drums and the soft melody of flutes will fill the balmy summer nights at the San Diego Wild Animal Park starting June 15 and lasting through Labor Day, Sept. 2.
Beginning June 15, front gates are open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., and guests may stay on the 1,800-acre grounds until 10 p.m. Note: Some animals are off exhibit (such as gorillas and large cats). But the Park at Dark has warm evenings, twilight trains, good food, and lively entertainment

All three of the giant pandas currently living in San Diego belong to the People's Republic of China and are on a long term loan to the San Diego Zoo. The terms of the giant panda loan agreement between the Zoological Society of San Diego and China indicates that when a youngster born from the two adults at the San Diego Zoo reaches 3 years of age, China will make a determination with regards to that youngster's future and where it will reside next. Make sure you visit the San Diego Panda exhibit when you are in town.
