Come spend a day with us and a class at the Safari Surf School!
The fun and adventure with Safari Surf School starts with here with it's owner Rick, and the great white sands of Mission Beach.
Safari Surf School is located at 3661 Mission Blvd. in Mission Beach, and the surfing area is right out front off of Santa Clara Place, right in the heart of Mission Beach.
Of course every day on the beach is a great day, especially when it is your "office".
The first measure of business when you arrive is getting a website that fits!
Sufari Surf School provides everything incuding wetsuits and surfboards!
All the surfboards are ready to go and are made with a softer foam material to keep everyone happy and safe while out in the water.
Once the wetsuits are all assigned and put on, it is time for Dave, one of Safari Surf Schools Senior Instructors, to go ahead and start the training class showing all the proper techniches for riding a surfboard and staying safe!
The class covers all the "how to do's" and "what to do's" of surfing and is easy for beginners to pick up and learn.

All the wetsuits are on and it is time to get into the water.
Dave gets ready to begin another surf class covering all the basics and things you need to know in the water.
Covering how to position yourself on the board is an important step in standing up.
Making sure you know how to handle the board in the water is a fun excersice in the sand!
A few practice runs on how to position your hands and get up make the learning process easier.
Here is the final goal, "hanging 10" and becoming a real surfer!
Making sure everyone knows what to do and is safe in the surf is a major priority for Safari Surf School.
Here students learn how to roll and hold onto their boards safely.
Dave prepares another class for the thrill of what to expect in the ocean when a set of waves start coming in.
Before anyone goes into the water, proper stretching is required. Students here start going through some of the strechting excersises getting ready to go out.
Now that the stretching is done it is time to zip up the wetsuits.
Once the stretching and training are done it is time to assign instructors to the surfing students. Safari Surf School pays great attention to safety and provides one instructor for every three students to make sure everyone has fun and is able to get personal help.
Off to the water!
Now that the class is over it is time to hit the water and start surfing!
A few last minute tips before going in the water.
Off they go into the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
A few training runs in the shallow water makes it easy to get the hang of it.
Another group of three people and their Safari Surf Instructor head into the water.
Nothing like just riding on the board and catching a wave for a few trial runs.
Riding on or standing makes little difference for the thrill of moving so fast is very exciting!
Each Safari Surf Instructor works with their group helping each person get up and get in front of the wave as it approaches.
All it takes is just a little help from an instructor and......
ANYONE can LEARN TO SURF!
